Which of these freshwater fish would you keep to eat? : Bass, Mullet, Perch, Walleye, Trout and Pike? I don't eat fish but I want to start... Which one tastes better and which one should I just avoid eating?

May I ask you if rainbow trout will taste better or worse than a brown trout?

I've actually never had brown, but rainbow is great.

Personally a big fan of Walleye and Pike.
Careful when filleting pike though as they have a lot of “Y Bones”.

There are some great tutorials on how to properly filet a pike on YouTube.

Run the pike through a cuber much like Deer steaks to break up the bones.

Bass is delicious, Pike or Jackfish as we call then are excellent filleted and ran through the cuber to break up the small bones and deep fried.

Depends on your state regs. New York is 12”.

Try a bigger lure, different lake and keep nothing under three pounds.

Trout.
I've heard walleye and perch are both good too.
Perch being yellow or white, not sunfish that most people call perch for some reason.

Yellow Perch, scaled not skinned. Dip in milk/ egg mix then into cracker meal. Deep fry till they float. Serve with lots of beer and good stories.
