If the bats are out when you are night fishing, cover ALL open sores or cuts. Bats carry Rabies naturally and when they "Squike"(?) to bounce the sound off objects, they also spit droplets that carry Rabies.
When it/if becomes "Active" they can't fly anymore and walk/stagger on the ground. That is when other animals eat them. IF the gums get cut chomping on them then they become infected with Rabies. Facts! my father worked as a Health Inspector and it was common on the weekends to have bats in plastic bags in our freezer to wait to take them to the lab on Monday for testing.
Not trying to scare you, just educate you. Most people don't know this.

Myrna confirms what you’re saying, audigger ! From working many years at the Lawrence Health Dept., she said they have had many β€œvictims” of bats that had to have the shots as a result. There’s a lot of big old student apartment houses here, and the bats get in the attics…

Bats are a good thing, I had a 4' X 4' bat house back in Caledonia. But, still very few bats.

Bats are good for eating bugs, just remember to cover any cuts, ect.

Hey, if it only eats fruits, maybe it can eat some of the folks that are not male or female, just the letter of choice at the time.
