Day 5 was a travel day for us, 3 hour drive to Anchorage and then a 3 1/2 hour flight (with a layover) to Petersburg. Day 6 was our fist day fishing for Kings at Blind Slough. Depending on how you want to look at it, we were skunked…….unless you count sculpins (bullheads) and salmon fry as a no skunk. One member did hook up and had it to shore when his line broke, very disappointing.
We also had a nice pair of eagles keep us company for a number of hours. The thing about where we fished is that we had to cross the river at low tide and then cross back again at low tide………so we were there quite a while. The weather was beautiful, but hot and not at all conducive for fishing.
There’s always tomorrow and the day after, hoping for some rain and cloud cover to get the schools to come up in large numbers.
Oh, did I mention we had the place to ourselves? No combat fishing………
Low tide
High tide, same vantage point
Down stream view mid tide
Upstream view mid tide

Good morning, 40, You should have used the Sculpin for bait, he gave you a good laugh. I'm sorry, but that is a skunk!
Great looking country. I’m unfamiliar with the fish looks kinda similar to a sea robin. Sculpin it must be a trash fish?

Pretty much WV, can be used for bait depending on your target species.

We would’ve if Kings were targeting them. Yup, I call it a skunk as well…….
Pretty nice scenery for a skunk! And Bald Eagles to keep you company. Maybe not a catching day but sure is beautiful!!!! How long are you up there?
