Yes it is Fred, been hunting it for nine years now, found two gold rings, lots of older silver coins, weirdest item found was a set of brass knuckles, this town has quite a Mafia history. No more turf farming, these people offered double what Scott was paying for yearly lease. https://www.allfarmers.world/They are going through the ground that has been harvested to break it up,then no more ploughing,i will only be able to hunt it after crops are harvested this fall.

That is so cool! The only thing I ever found was a 1869 Indian head penny in the imperial valley in 1959, we were just out target shooting and I happened to see it laying in the dirt. Fishandrods

Cool find, but it's too bad you'll lose some access.

I have a metal detector. Haven’t spent a lot of time with it but it’s fun, especially when you find items like you pictured. I always thought it would be great to use in Florida after a hurricane or storm. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome. Buddies have done it where saloons and Brothels had once been and burned down but obviously had already been scanned. Have you checked the value on any of the cool stuff? Makes one wonder how many of those similar items went out into someone’s yard. Way cool. I’m glad you were successful while you could still do it. I have heard of outhouse hunting too. Sounds gross but if it was 100 or more years ago it’s No telling what could be found in the dung.

That is awesome. Wish I had places like that to go to. What metal detector are you using?

I'm always scanning the ground for eye finds, one day got out of my truck, turned my machine on,looked down at a 14K ring with a aquamarine and emerald stones.

Nothing extraordinary,I always wondered what went out in a load of turf.No more kneeling to dig a target, just farm fields and the woods,I use a shovel.Privy hunting can be very rewarding.

Maybe 40 years ago, not sure, might have been a white, but not sure.I think of old homes that I had passed on the way hunting that were now grown over with vines and bushes, what old coins might be there. The only problem I see now is trying to get permission and even knowing who owned those old abandoned homes. What do you do?
