I spent sometime in Lancaster among the Amish. They do use batteries for lights on their buggies propane for refrigerators and gas engines For wells etc. the main thing is they do not connect to the power grid or drive cars them selves though they will have people drive them to work

I was born in Lancaster but moved away when still a baby. I love it out there in the countryside.
