I'm looking for some good spots to fish north of the bay area and in the Colusa area. Lakes and Rivers. I'm a little rusty but ready to get out there again. Will be shore fishing and am looking at fishing kayaks as well.

Hey boatman….you are surrounded by fishing opportunities…Colusa boasts good striper, catfish and black bass fishing. If you are into shad they might be running right now on the Sac and Feather Rivers. Check out Johnson’s Bait and Tackle in Yuba City…they can fill you in on Feather action. Tight lines and good luck! Attached are pics of my buddy with typical Feather stripers.

Thank you very much for the tips! I'm actually headed up there this weekend and will check it out! I hope it's not too late for stripers--I've spent a lot of time in Suisun Bay fishing for them in the past...

Drift minnows (jumbos if not too pricey) on the bottom and you should get some action….see where other boats are fishing….talk to the locals…drown some bait, etc…I hooked a huge white sturgeon in the Feather River once and turned him loose after a 45 minute tug-of-war! PS…check sturgeon regs!
