Yes, hammer and saw...different, REELS... THE SAME TASK !!While I appreciate a good debate, I prefer you pay attention to the details, please, particularly your own words. The premise was that your BAITCASTER was a "no contest" vs. my spinning reel ,casting....accuracy-wise. A 6 oz. LURE ? Yeah, I have a biggie for that..... it's a SPINNING REEL, an Okuma size 50,not a surf "caster", as in a level-wind.
The hammer and saw do different tasks,....the reels.... THE SAME TASK....get the bait/lure out there, then retrieve. That's their only function... period.
Let's get our vernacular straight . A reel whose "take-up cylinder is PERPENDICULAR" to the line (therefore the rod) is a LEVEL-WIND, call it a baitcaster if you insist , due to public acceptance (because it's like facial tissue....which everyone calls Kleenex,... not all tissues are Kleenex, but all Kleenex ARE tissues) of the misnomer. A SPINNING REEL's cylinder is PARALLEL to the rod. Are we agreed on that ? ....I hope so. But I will continue to remind you and everyone, that ALL reels, every damn one..... cast bait !
I said you can pick the lure, didn't I ? Well..... accepted...no prob. So.... your move ?
