I got to spend a nice day on the Backtroller with Capt Frank, showing him around Lilly a little bit. A cool morning but it warmed up nicely. We started in Barkwood Falls cove where I caught a decent Largemouth, and a little Smallmouth on the Dinger. It was pretty slow and Frank wasn't having much luck on a Spinnerbait. I was hoping we'd find a Pike or 2, but no such luck. We headed south to the west shoreline just before Pond Brook. I got the fish of the day, a 3lb Smallie, a 2 pounder and another little one. Frank changed to plastics too, but even with my new favorite color didn't manage to hook one. We missed a couple in the Brook and then the bite went away. We decided to call it a day, so we could beat the traffic.
There were a few boats out, but the only hazards were of the airborne variety. An old Piper (no picture) and this million dollar beastie.
I had a great time, and only wish Frank could have hooked up. I hope we can do it again, and explore more of the lake. Maybe even find a Tiger Muskie. Thanks my friend for a fun day.

Thanks for sharing your day, Fred. Nice bass and love the pics!
Good time and good company
Yes, I had great time with Fred. I was very careful to make sure he caught all of the fish and he obliged my efforts!

Thank you again Captain, that was most generous of you.
Next time we'll expand the search, and maybe find a Pike or Tiger.

Thanks DV. Absolutely hope for better results next time. You're welcome.
I don't think I needed better luck. Quite a few fish were caught by Fred and he is a very good fisherman. It doesn't matter who caught the fish as long as there was catching going on.
Being new to Connecticut, I have a little learning to do. We fished similarly to the way I fished back home in MN, but there were subtle differences. As some point I will get pretty good, but it might take a while.
