Well, you kids had all the privileges! I never had either a bath or shower until I was a teenager! My baths were in a # 2 galvanized tub in front of the kitchen stove. And I thought it was great! Only city folks had those luxuries.
Only at the end of the war did the oil company spend some real money to furnish workers' houses with insulation, indoor plumbing, including hot water heaters and showers. We were as country as having a Sears catalog in the outdoor toilet, or maybe Montgomery Ward! Just Sayin...RJS

We had to go through a chicken coop in 1 place to get to the outhouse. I remember metal wash tubs also..
