Mostly interested in catching like and walleyes. What lures would work best for this time of year? Also best line to spool up on 4 baitcasters and 2 spinning reels?
Forgot to mention lake Osakis is in Minnesota.
i've been to Osakis in August and we tried lots of lures and we all got skunked the first day . then we took in a seminar at the clubhouse and learned the slip bobber method using crawlers and leaches , then we ate very well . the panfish there are huge and well worth fishing as well ,light wt. rods hold on tight ! not saying lures don't work ,we just couldn't find what could .
just so you know it was not this august it was years ago however the people i know in MN. tell me not much has changed . I really wish I could make another trip there again I live just outside Phila. and that is quite a haul by my self . anyway I hope this is some help and thanks for bringing back those wonderful memories of Osakis Walleye .
