Hello everyone, I’m a new Lake Mead fisherman and just bought a 10’4” Ascend Kayak for getting into hard to reach alcoves. Hopefully I’ll get lucky and have some pictures soon.

Welcome aboard KP. We do love pictures. Always interested to see what's biting in other locations.

I’m done with making some floaters for stability in my kayak so I dont tip over moving around in kayak.

Looks really good. Hopefully there is NOT an unknown lake water monster that notices the great teeth on it. Welcome to fishing stage. Thank You for sharing the great looking watercraft. Reel the fish up away from the shark teeth. Maybe they will allow you to net them. Please share your fishing stories and pictures.

Are the sponsons far from where you will be paddling? The floaters are called sponsons. Great job either way. Langer is a really cool Fisherman that Fishes Havasu a lot.

Fly Tyer I probably needed a 12’ to handle my height and weight, but it’s rated for 450# single occupant. Getting used to balancing is something I had to get used to first couple times. At 6’4” and 265#

I’m hoping when paddling the the floats won’t hinder me, plus I’ll fold them up above gunnels when moving.

Sponsons. All good. Tipsy boats utilize them to reduce listing. List=leaning one way. Looks good. Teeth... Hopefully they spook the unknown Water Monters away to keep you safe. I have been in Canoes and have settled for bigger boats so i don't have to balance as much. You can really do a better job of getting in smaller places and will get use to the balance in short order. If you have a dog or other people onboard it gets challenging but it's like a bicycle. Practice makes perfect. PFD is a must for safety. Have fun hook many fish and be careful in rough water or where there is a lot of other watercraft especially powerboats that create bigger wakes.
