I have a Frogg Toggs rain jacket and like it and I need a pair of Hip waders. Balance not good enough that I would go out deep with my Chest waders any more on a river with a bottom of slippery rocks. Now I am wondering if I need felt soles for those slippery rocks. Anybody have experience with Felt soles?

Hey Kerry. They're outlawing them in a lot of places.
They say they can transfer harmful organisms from 1 body of water to another. Go figure.

How long do organism's live on the bottom of a wader?

I hosed mine off as soon as I got home.

Got ya, It is something to consider. Here we have some reservoirs that once you launch in one you can't launch in some others. Same reason I assume.

Yeah, I reckon so. Who knows any more. Things do get transferred from 1 body of water to another though.

Some places have wash downs right at the launch site. Big sign telling the owners to wash down before and after. However, enforcement of said request I have yet to see any.

A lot of locations are restricting the use because of transferring contsminants and eggs etc. I have used boots that have mini suction cups on the bottom, they work pretty well..
