Just joined today ..looks like a awesome site can’t wait to hear all the great info from fellow fisher people. Think of purchasing a lake house in southern New Hampshire ant lakes that standout for trout and bass fishing from April through the fall? Thanks for any feed back again looking forward to using this informative site.
Sounds like a good idea.
I fly fish for bass and trout all the time.
You may want to give it a try

Welcome to the Forum, Ewing. Sounds like a Winner to me. So, do you fly fish or spin fish the trouties?
Lots of great fishing in New Hampshire . Finding lake front property is going to be tough . It’s in pretty high demand . For fishing I like Pawtuckaway. It’s a large lake surrounded on two sides by state land and private land on the south and east sides. I have not been in the spring so I haven t tried for trout . I have caught bass, pan fish and pike. It is a beautiful lake but it’s proximity to population areas makes it up there in price. I note a lot on Zillow currently selling for 229,000.
If budget is an issue I would look for the property first and then research the fishing . NH fish and wildlife anglers guide is available online and an excellent publication.
Looking for lakes/ponds to fish in N.H. ? Check the N.H. Fish & Game Dept.'s website; they have over 200 depth maps for lakes and ponds all over the state, with directions and fish species listed for each lake/pond ! Mind you, some of them may be remote, walk-in ponds requiring some hiking to get to ! In southern N.H. in mid- to late-summer, look for deeper, clearer water to fish, especially for trout, as they need cooler, cleaner, well-aerated water to survive ! Same goes for rivers/streams; look for bigger, steadier flows with deep holes and good cover/shade ! Also, a lot of good trout streams often have good populations of river-run smallmouths, which are a riot on light tackle and may be biting when the trout aren't !
Thanks for your input guys.
