Sounds like a couple of my days at Spring lake last year! It will only get better Fred! Congratulations on catching some nice ones! Those frustrating days only make us want to get back it and catch that lake monster! Good luck and be safe!

Thanks Matt. I guess I was due for a day like that, but it hit me by surprise. I'll pay more attention next time. Tight Lines and be safe out there buddy.

I lost more fish today than I usually catch, unbelievable. First 2 Largemouth jumped at the boat and threw the hook! First fish in the boat was a Rocky. Finally got a 1.5 LM in the boat at the guarantee tree . Next bite was a Snot Rocket at the brushpile, who also jumped off at the boat, ok by me. I tried some new wood and hooked a nice fish that dove into the sunken tree and got hung up. After 5 minutes of trying to get her out I wrapped the 10lb braid around my pliers and tried pulling her out but the braid broke at the pliers. Went back to the guarantee tree, and hooked another bass who dove into the tree and broke the 8lb leader. Went to the northwest shore on my way to the ramp. Found lots of fish but the first 2 LM pulled the same stunt as earlier, jumping at the boat and throwing the hook. I managed to catch a 1.5lb Smallie , and just as it started to sprinkle caught the fish of the day, a 2.75 LM. A very frustrating day, but lots of action anyway, capped off with unpredicted rain.....

Thanks Kandy. Definitely the most action filled day I've had up there this year. It would have been nicer if they all stopped in for a quick mugshot, but I'll get them next time.

Just found out my nephew is moving to Florida and leaving my brother in the Marlborough Nursing Home. I'm still in shock.

That's rough Kandy, could you maybe move him closer to you?

5 year waiting list for a nice place and I think leaving him where he feels comfortable , they know and like him is better than uprooting to a questionable place. Disgusting thing is, they haven't told him yet and already have a house down there. Sad. I'm a little ashamed of nephew but at the same time want him to be happy.

Yeah, family situations are tricky. Sounds like your nephew has been good with your brother for a long time, and as you said, he and his family deserve to have a happy life as well. Definitely a hard situation to resolve. Good luck Kandy,I hope it all works out..

Thanks Andy. Trying to keep it going for our M&G, coming up in 4.5 weeks.
Good luck this weekend with the kids, and grandkids? Be careful out there, this is the official start of Nutjobs on the water season. I hope the Foil works good. Be safe my friend and have a great family holiday.

Mornin, FF. As I sat and read your report, I found myself smiling, feeling some relief as I thought about how dang wordy I am in my writing. Your details were easy to follow, fun to read and I could feel your quiet frustration as the fish winked at you boatside. Love the guarantee tree. I have a couple of those here on The Rock that never disappoint. Great story and pics. Big o smile tops it off.

Thanks Mike. I too tend to ramble on too much at times and have to go back and edit my stories. It was a challenging day for sure, but fun none the less. It's funny that we all have a special spot or 3 that always produce. I, for one, try to explore new areas on a lake, but am always drawn back to the honeyholes for some instant gratification.LOL.Glad you enjoyed the journey.

Honeyhole. Exactly the name I gave a once-partially-submerged tree. Every time, 1 or 2 fishies. Now, nada. 😔 So, I withdrew the moniker. That tree can suck it. I'll find a replacement. 😝
