New Melones Lake fishing report. Calaveras county. California
Getting ready to head out and give it a try now that the lake is practically full. Anyone fish the lake lately?
there have been a few post lately... I was there last Saturday... The bite Stopped around 11am... I landed 4 in the boat and lost 4-5 bass... So get out there early... plus this weekend should be very busy... We launched a Tuttle... headed left... had the first fish in the boat 15 minutes after launching...
PS... if anyone is looking for a person to go out on the boat with... who is willing to help pay for gas... and has all his own gear... :-) let me know...

Thanks for the update, yeah I was pretty sure that this wasn’t going to be a weekend for fishing, there’s been a steady stream of jet ski and water ski boats headed on up.
I like fishing out of Tuttletown and have pretty good luck, but yeah, starts getting hot close to noon and it’s time to leave. If I bump into anyone looking for a seat, I’ll let you know. By the way, I’m from Turlock too but got wise and moved.
