Bodies fished: Barehill Pond (Harvard). Coach Lace (Clinton)

Barehill findings: H20: 62.5f
6:00 am - 12:30 pm
Boated Bass: 14

Soft plastics, several presentations. Found tight break lines in proximity from shallow to deep water.. most bass caught were targeted in open water. No significant size but ok numbers.

Coach Lace findings: H20: 69f
1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Boated Bass: 18

Soft plastics, unweighted, wide gap motor oil, 5” ribbon tail. Dead fall and drag (slow)
Bass were holding on or near cover and structure. Fish were fast and strong. Again no significant size other than a 3.2 but very active and fun..

Final thoughts:
With bare hill being spring fed and much larger in size, the temps proved a slightly slower bite. Coach lace was more active due to the muddy, warmer water this time of year. In coming weeks I’m sure the story will flip as coach lace will warm up quickly pushing the bass to their summer haunts much quicker than Barehill where the temps will gradually increase as the season progresses.

Thanks HG..
The only body I witnessed what I thought was left over beds was Moulton pond, followed by some bass fry.. other than that no beds at the 7 places I’ve fished this season. Most of the bass are definitely males beefing up for the brutal spawn madness. I can tell you that the stained/muddy waters I search for have ranged between 58-69 degrees f. Dating back a month or so. I believe we are days away from the offspring. Those kettle ponds must be fun to fish. I’m sure some hogs have been caught around the cape. I heard the largemouth state record was taken on carver pond weighing over 15 lbs.. crazy if true! Tight lines…

28 Inches from Sampsons1975 fish there a few times caught some nice ones nothing that big though. The body of water holds a large population of big freshwater eels also that the bass feed on.Beautiful body of water. 🎣😎👍🇺🇸
