We fished off the shore today just south of the Rock wall. Only saw 3 keepers taken all day by the 10 or so guys. The kayakers were killing them 200+ yards out bottom bouncing (most were using herring -- a few using anchovies).
All we caught were leopard sharks (all just a couple inches short of the 3' required length to keep) and the damn jacksmelt kept eating the bait.

Wow, that's a really mixes bag. What's a shaker halibut? First time I've heard it.

A shaker is any fish that is below the legal size limit. California Halibut need to be 22" or longer.
