There is a place in Washington up near Mt. Rainier like this. I guess the answer is “Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore!”

We had a guy in town who did that with an old wood Cabin Cruiser. Rebuilt and refinished it inside and out. Built a nice dock, and ran 4 inch Hawser around the perimeter of the pond, with amber lights all the way around. He used it for guest quarters, and for his grandkids to stay in. Had some Bass and Panfish in the pond, and you could fish from the cocpit.

After hurricane Katrina I had my neighbor’s 36 foot, double masted sailboat in my front yard about 40 feet from the bay’s edge. There was lots of talk about what to do with it. Burn it in place, make a neighborhood bar and mother-on-law suite were the top three. After about three months he was finally able to get it back into the water. Since I had the only pier that was left on our side of the bay it stayed tied up to my pier another six months.

Pretty cool looking old boat so it was a real conversation piece.

He had it there for about 15 yrs. The boat is gone now but the pond remains.
