Decided to give the bigger water a break and hit a couple of ponds. Caught several more but these were the ones we kept to clean.

Good catching there, LHST! That's some interesting color patterns on those bass, kind of a mottled look.

Their coloring had a little more yellow tint to it than normal, but I had them on ice for a couple of hours before I cleaned them, so thatโ€™s probably what caused some of it.

Nice fishing sir. If I didn't have to work today, I'd been there fishing with you.

I had to go drop off some ferns used for decoration at our schoolโ€™s graduation and award ceremonies to the person who owns the big pond where I caught some of the bass in the first picture I posted in this thread. Figured while I was there, I would see if I could catch a few bream near some of the beds I had seen when I was bass fishing. Caught these in about two hours on regular old live earthworms.

Havenโ€™t posted in a couple of weeks, but I went back in the southern basin last Friday. Found some sacalait, but man, they were finicky. Lots of short, soft strikes where they bit the tail off my jig, and I lost them, some of them at the boat. Ended up catching these 7, two of them over 13โ€.
