Finally got out to go fishing for a week on Lake Guntersville. My wife used 500 crickets in five days. I wouldn't let her keep all of the bream she caught. The pic you have to download to open is a typical days catch off of the pier. The first pic is a sucker that I just don't care for. It was about 2 1/2 -3 feet long. I did lose a really big bass, it broke 17 lb test line. I did get to see it. It was a stud, biggest bass i've ever hooked on a cane pole or anything else. Was fishing with 8" live nightcrawlers.

The Goggle eyes and bluegills came from Deadlake this past Saturday.

Thanks for that. Atleast I got to see it. I believe a basketball would have fit in it's mouth. Probably would have lost it if the line did'nt break. It was all I could do to hold on to the cane pole with both hands! Wife was up at the house, so no body near to net it.

My uncle always said "Good thing God made lots of bluegill because they sure are tasty!"

I honestly don't know, but would guess double digit for sure.

Wow! those are dark colored. Nice catch. That bass will just be bigger tomorrow. Every bite in that area from now on will be a heart stopper.

Deadlake has the prettiest and darkest fish I have ever seen. The bass were bedding all around the pier in Guntersville and boy did them local guys know it. They would even come at night with lights and fish.

Nice! Thanks for posting this. I joined this site to get pointers, after moving to Guntersville last year, and was losing faith that anybody would ever post anything about Guntersville. You have renewed my faith in the site. lol Thanks again.

Every time any of my buddies talk about Guntersville, they talk about frogs, rats, and rattle traps. My biggest fish on Guntersville, 6 pounder, was caught with a soft plastic craw, on a shaky head. However, the most fish I have caught in a trip down there have been on a Zara spook. Guess I don’t know how to fish frogs and rattle traps.

We have a member, Whitereb, who lives on the lake also. Send him a PM with your questions.

Nice mess fish. Been busy on a new property. Just been checking in once a week. Not familiar with dead lake. Sounds like fun. If I can be any help reach out. Think I’ll try around south sauty. That’s where they released the truck tagged bass at I paid my entry.
