A barracuda and a triggerfish

Yesterday outside of the St Lucie inlet. First got a barracuda on a live grunt. Then, a triggerfish on cut-up bait. Then caught second triggerfish a few minutes after catching the first one, and then nothing but grunts.

Do in Key West on a guided trip way out. Last day the high waves from a hurricane going through. I wanted to catch a mahi but crappy water waves. But caught a monster Cuda 72”. Yes a monster

Now THOSE are some really cool catches KG! Immediately googled to see if either are edible and it's a yes, but answer--some nasty thing called ciguatera poisoning. Oh well.

Looks like fun. Any time I catch a fish that I have no photo holding and can get a photo of while holding it, is a very successful day or trip. My current target is 200. I am in the mid 100's right now. Both of those would qualify for me. I have caught both in the past, but no confirmation photos. That being said, my biggest barracuda could have been used for bait to catch that one. Nice fish.
