I've found very few flounder around dauphin island and by the cuttoff ..but where are they at ? Ive had people tell me places to try but nothing. .using gulp bait I've never caught anything.....at all....only thing I've caught on a lure around here is a few speckled trout on electric chicken lure with 1/4 oz jig head under a cork. I've literally tried hundreds of different things. Where are the fish. ? And why aren't they biting?

I mean it's like catfish city ....you can't use shrimp or you'll catch nothing but hard head cats and small croaker. ..every once in a blue moon using small pieces of mullet you catch a ground mullet or white trout. Maybe once out of 30 days I'll catch a red or speck on finger mullet. Where are the fish man ??

Lots of freshwater runoff, might have pushed salt loving fish offshore for now? Try DOA scented swim bait, we have better luck using them!

Hi. In the summer months I've found flounder tend to be feeding later the day on an outgoing tide. Especially closer to structure. I.e. rock groins, pillings, bulkheads. Keep the cast close.15- 20 ft. Bump it. Jig it. Reel. Slow.. retrieve.

I'm in biloxi,ms. and i believe it most likely has to do with the spillway opening in Louisiana all the freshwater and algae bloom jjust hang tightaand hopefully it will be over soon because i know from experience your not the only person who's upset about it ...

Read something on line today and haven't tried it, but the guy swore by it. Raw bacon, was nailing the flounder comparing it to and any lure made. So maybe take a little with you and a frying pan to cook the rest in the sun if it doesn't work. Good luck.

They were biting on the rocks. And oround pilings. But not many big ones. . Sorry I didn't get back sooner. But we caught a few here and there. Also along some grass .. but since it's cooked down some. Can't get anything to bite. Not even on live shrimp.
