Outside of St Lucie Inlet: a trigger fish, 9 snappers, and 60+ grunts

Not a bad day out yesterday. Didn't catch anything large, but still got plenty of good-tasting fish.

Lots of grunts. We probably got 10 or 15 more that we cut up for bait. And still kept plenty. People dismiss grunts, but they taste pretty good if you fry them right away. You just can't freeze them. They get this weird sour smell.

What we couldn't eat last night we are going to grind into chum for the next trip to mix with oats.

Nice day KG. Got you some nice Snapper also. I freeze Grunts and don't recall a sour smell. Now you hoping to make ne pull out a bag and smell them. LOL. Here is a pic of some from up here.

Wow, quite the haul there KG! I like how you arranged your catch for a photo. Kinda looks like a diagram on an arithmetic problem.🤓

Nice catch. I fish the same waters with similar success. I do freeze extra grunt meat with no issues. But I also freeze Spanish mackerel and bluefish and think they are just fine so it’s probably just me….lol.
