Are lie yu wang baitcaster reels a good budget buy or are they not worth it?

My personal rule of thumb is to not go cheap on baitcasters. Spinning reals sure, go cheap if you need/want to. I would suggest just getting a Lew's Speed Spool or an equivalent. Cheap baitcasters are harder to use and break more easily. I am not familiar with the brand you posted so I cannot help much there. Generally you get what you pay for. $30 reel, $30 quality.

They're probably not worth it. Ideally, you should buy from a more established manufacturer (Shimano, Daiwa, Abu Garcia, Quantum, Lews, Penn, Pflueger) as they offer decent reels at just about any price point.

Buy a Daiwa cc80 for $53 on amazon at the very least. I recommend spending at least $100 on casting reels.

I’ve been on a $60 Abu Garcia Blackmax for 2 years now going between the St Marks flats and out in lake jackson. I’ve caught more fish off it than anything combined, AND it’s still going strong. If nobody has heard of the one you’re asking about, it’s probably for a good reason.
I think Steve Johnson uses a wang baitcaster on his catfish journeys
Shimano for fresh water, Penn for salt water. But that is me!!!!
