Good day Fishingstage members.

I’m hoping to gather some more good advice from you all once again. Being fairly new to this area, it would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for suggestions for my wife and I in reference to a simple fishing vacation spot this summer. Looking for an area within 150 mile radius of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Have been doing searches on our own. But hoping someone might be willing to share an area they have enjoyed in the past?

Would like an area with cabin rentals, boat or pontoon rental, dock by cabin. More interested in Pike numbers than size. Good panfishing would be a plus.

A good day on the water for a 65 year old couple and a Shih Tzu to just take it easy and put a few fish in the boat.

Any locations, information or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration. God bless.

You might look into Big McKenzie Lake outside Spooner Wisconsin.
I don't make it every year but as often as possible. When my kids hit around 16 I lost my fishing buddies. They're slowly coming back.
I've been there off and on since I was little and started fishing with my dad and mom. It's about 90 miles north of Eau Claire.
The lake hold Northern, Lg mouth, and panfish.

Thank you for the information. I will definitely write this down and take a look. Spooner is not far from us at all.

The Spooner area has a lot of good fishing for panfish an northern. The best for a ton of action try Spooner Lake just east of the city. Lots of action for either species. Have fun!

The Chetek chain is about as good for sunnies, crappies and pike as any. there are many resorts, taverns and restaurants around the chain.
