of course that is right and I always have felt they ask the wrong question when they say "should not have k**led him because his life was worth more than a few bucks. When they should say it is a shame he thought his life was only worth a few bucks" The thief makes the value judgement not the victims of the crimes being committed. would I shoot a guy over a few bucks? no but if he had a knife or gun pointed my way I would shoot him in self defense.

If someone forces his way in (kicking the door in, breaking and entering) while I'm home, I would feel sufficiently threatened to respond with force. I'm pushing 80, so I really have only one kind of force at my disposal that would have much of a chance of prevailing.

In my state ( Connecticut) there is no " Castle Doctrine " . If someone busts into your house through the front door, you're supposed to leave out the back door, or a window or flee any way ya can.

My option is to take a physical assault, die, or squeeze my index finger down @ around 4 pounds. Guess what what I'm gonna do ?
