I live in central Fl and fish for Large Mouth Bass usually with worms, senkos, buzz baits and occasional top water.
Has anyone trolled with a trolling motor for bass and had any luck? If so would love to get some ideas and tips.
Thanks,
Rich

Bass need different speeds on different days. I have trolled fast and slow. You need to vary speeds and find the one they like. Dan

I don’t live in Florida, but have had some success trolling with live and artificial minnows during mid-summer. You can adjust the amount of weight once you find the depth they are holding at or the speed. On really hot days they tend to be deeper. Oh, I live in Kansas but a bass is a bass. Ours are just smaller! Lol

Propper trolling can only be done with an outboard motor , not electric . Trolling is an art . The electric ones are called trolling motors , but they are used to position your boat or run up the shoreline while casting to visible cover , or dragging a lure behind the boat . That's a far cry from propper trolling .

Troll with the outboard motor and stroll with the electric motor. I've done both with some success. You can slowly stroll a Carolina rigged plastic through a stump field and get good results. My Dad and I used to troll deep crankbaits off and across deep points on hot summer days when nothing else seemed to get a bite. Good memories...

Don't know if you'd call it trolling, but creeping along and bouncing a plastic worm along the bottom would regularly produce 5 and 6 pounders for a fellow that fished out of our livery on Swan Lake in NY. Pretty sure he was going slow enough to sweet talk them onto his hook. He's probably passed on by now, but whatever... Hi Mr.Steinberg!
