When I wonder through thrift stores, flea markets and antique stores, I see many things I had as child that cost a few dollars and many for pocket change now in bid wars on eBay or in glasses, locked cases with do not touch without assistance. Like my brand new original radio flyer bicycle, fire engine red, white walls and built-in radio with lots of chrome now an American pickers prize find for a wealthy collector. With all those things that are considered antique, I'm with the realization I am the true antique looking at item's and even classic cars younger than me.
I hate seeing antique plates on cars I used to drive😟

Just a few for old times sake…..
Tinker Toys
Lincoln Logs
Super balls
Slinky
DCGravity
Loc: Fairfax, VA (by way of Cleveland OH)
Radio flyer flexible flyer sled; Spyder bike with the banana seat, hi rise handlebars, and sissy bar, Duncan yoyos; just to name a few.
They’re all antiques. Actually they have to be over a hundred years old to be considered an antique. So at our age they would be collectibles… 🐟on
We sometimes do clean outs of abandoned estate's or clean house's or old business building's out for seller or new tenants and get paid for it, plus we can keep anything worth using or selling. We have scored Hot wheels collections in their packages, and large rolls of copper pipes and antique items too. I've owned and operated a furniture restoration shop and antique stores and everything doesn't have to be 100 years old to be considered an antique. Period and retro furniture I've sold them for $ thousands.

I don’t no about mine being an antique, but I sure loved to go down my street on my Big Wheel! I lived on hill and would slide out and spin and keep going, got a lot of road rash from that thing but I got to say I loved every minute of it!

A few of my old boats were close enough to be called an antique and my newer one is an 84' but the fish don't care 🤣

I remember well something my DAD made me in the early 1940s. Those of you that may know a little about old logging methods, they used a big winch like thing they called a "DONKEY". It was a big engine that was mounted on top of two very large logs used as a skid and had a big boom that was made of two thinner logs that come up and out from the skid coming together at the end with a big pulley. A cable was run from a big drum that was attached to the big engine and run out and up thru the pulley and down the hill to where trees were being cut. They would use this to yard the trees back up to the Landing. Well my DAD made me one and he used the winding mechanism from an old gramophone to making my "Donkey" I used it a lot during the WW2 time frame. Wished I had it now!
