First time I’ve ever fished for them. Went out with my son & grandson. No way the grandson could have hauled one in. I’ve never seen fish fight so hard. Sore muscles today. Unfortunately we fed a couple of bull sharks with tarpon on the line but we managed to get six alongside the boat and safely released. Quite a day.

Old Hitler is about 14' and was a Hammerhead shark that lived in the area of Boca Grande and over the years doing tarpon season he would show up and take the tarpon off of line when fisherman would hook up with a tarpon..he a real noisiness.. They just started calling it Old Hitler 🎣

Thanks. It was amazing to see the bull sharks hitting the tarpon. It must have been even more so with a great hammerhead.

Hi Henry, I think they did catch a hammerhead and thought it was the one that was eating all of the tarpons but just a few days after that the big it was back at it again.
That's when they called it Old Hitler 😂

Kinda Interesting the parallel's between Shark & Catfish, grew up fishing in the Midwest, ended up mostly a Saltwater guy...Catfish...Flathead's terrible & poison like, Channel's good flakey white meat....Blue Shark.. terrible & poison like....Mako's,... Tasty & solid white meat...Never attempted eating a bull....
