I am new to the forum effective 4/18/23. I am a Hoosier, growing up in Southern Indiana. My fishing experience has been mostly shore fishing at farm ponds, creeks, reservoirs and public fishing areas. I enjoy getting out early and fishing for crappie. And while I have caught some large fish I prefer the typical size panfish slabs for fish sandwiches. I prefer my catch to come out of clean cold water too minimizing parasite build up. I grew up in the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge east of Seymour.
As for out of state fishing I have fished Lake Michigan with a charter for king salmon; Florida Lake Talquin for big largemouth bass. My record largemouth was caught there and weighed in at 7.5 lbs.
My record Bluegill is 1.5lbs.
Good fishing!!!
Welcome sir. I grew up in Bloomington but have been a westerner since 1974.

My 92 year old dad is in Indy/greenwood, we still fish together. But not a lot of places to go other than pay lakes without a drive.

When I'm in Avon visiting my sister I like to fish at Sodalis Nature Park. It has it has a nice floating dock. Should be easy access for your father.
Look up the website to see a picture of the dock and pond.
