New to the forum. Trying to make a few friendly connections. Looks like I am in the wrong place.

Alph .. I don't mean to be wisea$$ , but trying to explain why your response #'s are lacking. The date on your registration here is plain enough. Maybe I'm being a jerk ( again ) so let me start over. The best way to establish yourself here is to initially tell the folks here a little about yourself, what type of tackle ya use, what fish you seek, if ya got a particular boat, yak or canoe, etc.
Please accept my humble apology. I'm the guy here that has a history of encouraging others to treat each other with courtesy and respect. I'm afraid in your case * I * did not do so. 🤔 My bad. A thousand pardons.

Alphawolff, I recommend you look at the Guide's Forecast. The email comes out every Thursday night and covers the entire state, broken down by areas, and the ocean. Includes SW Washington which should be of interest to you also. The email is free. You have to subscribe to get the future outlook, but the free information is timely.

Alphawolff,

You are in the right place for fishing information. Maybe phrase the questions differently. And ignore the folks who have forgot their manners.

Start fresh is a good idea. Name is MikeWolff. I am 71yo and not into long walks on the beach, a long day of fishing however, is a lot of fun. I've been in Oregon since I was 8yo. Grew up in The Dalles and loved the fishing in that area. Guided in the area for a long time. Charter member of the Original Columbia River Bass and Walleye Club in The Dalles, Member of and fished for Budweiser's National Fishing Team Captained by John Maynard. Factory field rep and tester for Lure Jensen, Shimano, Pro-Cure,and Smoker Craft factory. 5 USCG Near Costal and all Inland Waters Captain's renewals. Now I am completely retired and back in the area after a long absence from Portland. If Buz Ramsey is on here and isn't to old to remember me, he could verify;-)
I am generally very short with my texts but, you got me started. Walleye and salmon are my area favs, working on the walley part here. Used to haul em in by the live well full below JD Dam, especially at night.
Particularly looking for good mid week plunking spots. I have a lot of time on my hands. I've done my years of volunteering and that makes me more selfish with my time. My favorite cause to support is "Get Hooked", look Deshaun Berry up and offer any donations of gear in support. I live with my Electrician son. 2 Bachelor's with a 16.5 Smoker Alaskan with 2 ft itis.
I have more gear than I will ever use but I'm going to try. Like I said, you got me started, buy now I'm done, it's been nice for me to remember some of my youth. Good night all. Keep em tight! Be well.

Nice recovery from the snide greeting from the aptly-named Nutz...nice redemption recovery on your part, as well Nutz, I must say...hehehe.

Thanks for the mini-bio. You should chime in when you feel the urge, as you obviously have knowledge that can help others in their chosen avocation.
Looking forward to another great season (does Oregon actually have an "off-season"..? I don't really think so !) of chasing salmonids, all over the PNW, keep us posted on what you find, be safe and Good Luck !
