Recently purchased Bass Pro’s Bone Dry rain bibs and jacket. ($200)Fished wearing them this morning for first time in the rain, it wasn’t a downpour, just steady rain. After about 45 minutes I was noticing dampness in the inner sleeves and in pants bottoms, after and hour I was pretty well soaked inside the suit and was cold and miserable. Temperature was in the upper 40’s and 15 mph north wind, needless to say I was cussing Johnny Morris. Going to take them back to store in the morning for a refund ….. hopefully they will not be a pain and give me a refund.

In nearly 80 years, I have never really found a rain suit that will keep me dry. I quit trying, about 20 years ago. A lost cause.

I seem to get just as wet with or without. I think sweat is a factor in wet raincoats.

I know very well that it is. We used to wrestle in HS & College with a "rubber suit" on until someone died wearing one because the body can't get rid of its heat. They outlawed them, but it was hard to enforce in the practice room. We could open up the band around the wrist and sweat would just pour of it.

Back in the early 90', I bought a suit wholesale and it cost me right at 200 bucks. So to keep up with inflation, the same suit bought today would be over $300, or more. It keep me very dry in the 'rain forest' of SE Alaska. I did feel wet, but when I got back to camp, found I was dry. I still have the suit, and still keeps me dry.

10X Goretex has worked for me for the last 15 years. They’re very good in a steady rain but if it’s a downpour I’m getting out of it. I do feel damp after a while but when I remove them I’m dry.
A lot of people swear by Simms products but they are pretty expensive

Interesting. I just purchased a bone dry parka rain suit, top only. Didn’t want bibs. Wednesday I was wearing it,and it was a steady rain. I felt the same way. Damp. But when I got back to truck I was not as wet as I felt. My moisture issues was from perspiration. I worked for 27yrs outside 6 days a week. No option to stay out of elements, no matter what. I have purchased rain gear that was available for my job. Always felt wet. Usually perspiration.

I did hear on the news recently that a woman is bringing a class action suit against a company for something she bought (boots?)said it water proof and turned out, not live up to it's claim.
She is asking for a settlement of $5,000,000.00.

That's all we wear from hoodies to PVC bibs, they are the best foul weather gear out there IMO. There's a sale tab on the site and we get quite a bit out of the clearance rack. Cabelas/BassPro are terrible at returning or refunds. I went to them in late July last year and they were getting out the camouflage hunting bone dry rain wear ($500) for bibs and coat ,so bought them and end of September tried the bibs on ,legs were about 3 to 4"s too long, thought they would exchange the size with no problem, WRONG, been over 60 days so no refund or exchange even though they still had All the tags on them and could see that they had not been worn. I have spent thousands through the yrs. there, but not anything again. Coat was waterproof though, but over priced

I bought a cheaper rain outfit. My bibs were too long as well. My wife cut them and hemmed them to fit for me. I am guessing, but I don’t think they offer inseam lengths on rain suits. Just saying

Thought of having the wife do the same, but with the zipper on the legs,you can't do that on mine. Guess my 6 ' grandson may have a new pair of bibs this fall ?
