The Washington State record Walleye is just over 20# and fish > 10# are pretty common in the Columbia. However, because of a desire to maintain broodstock, and because the larger fish have built up heavy metals and organic toxins in the meat and fat, people generally release the big ones.
Here is the WA state record Walleye. A buddy of mine caught it

I’ve caught a few 10#. But that is a beast. Thank you
Beautiful Fish guys!!! I wish I knew how to fish for them, but I grew up in Colorado with mountain trout. My biggest rainbow was 22.5". Got it fishing from the shore at North Michigan Res. I thought I had hooked another pine tree snag until it got about 6' from shore!! Then I had a fight! I am off to fish for trout on Tues. when it will be 80*.
Keep sharing those great pictures.

Hi Susan. That would be a catch of a life time, 22.5" is a big trout in my neck of the woods. Walleye put up a good fight and are excellent table fare. Last year was my first adventure, now I'm hooked. Caught 3 that were in the 10# range. I think the 3-5 pounders are probably the best eating though.
Thanks Russ, I've eaten crappie when back in Michigan with family, but not walleye. Do you have to scale or skin them? We fileted the crappie (not me) and they are yummmm. I didn't catch em tho, just ate em.

I think walleye is the best eating fish there is salt or fresh water. Fileted is how I have cleaned it.😋😋
