Hello
I am new to the site looking forward to hearing from other anglers who fish from Englewood to Captiva. I usually fish inshore areas as I have a center console bay boat.

Welcome to the stage Bob. This is a nation wide site.

You might want to try making a thread mentioning the area you want in the topic itself.

Naples fishing pier is still closed for repairs from the Hurricane. If you rent from any of the hotels in Marco or Naples along the beach, you can fish in the beach/surf area behind any hotel usually early morning or sunset. Use live shrimp if at all possible, cut bait or paddle tail plastics they work best. The pompano run is still strong thru early may.
Delnoir wiggins state park is great for the beach and surf fishing as well. Red tide is still present in some areas, check with the FWC -website for details. If not go further North to Ft. Myers, Lee & charlotte county as well as punta Gorda.
Venice near sarasota also has a fishing pier. all of these areas are still considered SWFL. Another cool spot is near marco island is Everglades City, great for catching Drum, sheepshead, snapper, small sharks, snook and other aquarium type of fish. But the best probably still remains Naples Pier. Find out when it will be finished with the repairs by calling the city or the county. Tight lines & Happy fishing !

Hi Bob ,
I’m new to this site as well . Most of my fishing is offshore mainly out of Venice and some inshore out of Pine Island . Sometimes I’m a crew member short and looking to fill a slot out of Venice . If that’s something you might be interested in let me know .

You are in the tarpon capitol of the world.
I've landed 1 small one.
Looking for My first 50+ pounder
The spring tarpon run in Boca Grande pass is something you have to experience.
I'll be there again.

Hi Larb, I’m Jerry O’Connor (Jeretired - on Fishing Stage). I live in Venice and am always up for a trip to the shore/beach for a little fishing expedition 😉. I tie my own rigs (pompano, Fishfinder, loop, etc.,), and have a “Fish’n-Mate Jr cart” prepped and ready to go. I’m always looking for a fishing buddy (I’m a spry 78 but my wife frets when I head out alone)! If you ever find yourself in need of another fishing partner (charter or shore), don’t hesitate to give me a buzz at (360) 349-5724…..☘️

Hi Larb, If you find yourself short on crew, I’m happily retired and free to go (that is: ready to get out of the wife’s hair 😉). Whenever the weather’s good and the waters’ calm - fishing’s 🎣 Always a Go 😊! Feel free to give me a shout…..jeretired (Venice)…..☘️
