Looking for some good homemade doughball recipes to teach my grandson so we can catch some cats and carp.
Live bluegills for cats and corn for carp, always works for me.

Peanut butter and bread made into a dough ball works 👍
Canned whole kernel corn 🌽 worked great for me.

Chicken liver night crawlers or greasy hot dogs raw. If the cats in your area aren't that big.
Carp as said corn. Many varieties of dough balls out there also.
Good luck 👍🎣
Wheaties cereal and strawberry soda pop make an excellent CARP/CAT dough bait.
Crush up 2 cups of Wheaties and add a little bit of soda at a time, and mix thoroughly into a ball.
You want the bait to be good and firm once properly mixed.
Use a #8 treble hook and form a small ball of bait around the hook no bigger than the diameter of a dime.
Cast the bait out in your favorite CARP/CAT hole, and if the bait is mixed properly, it will stay on the hook and not fall off.
Change bait and fishing spot every 20 minutes, until you locate the fish.
Make sure you hold onto your rod, because a carp, especially a big one, can hit like a freight train and WILL pull your rod in if you are not paying attention.
Good luck and enjoy your time out fishing with your grandson.
God Bless
