I already know that I am going to get some flak on this question, because the species in question has many regional names. Many are also claim the species in question is a hybrid.
I did the IGFA research before posting this trivia question.
The IGFA does classify the War Mouth as a separate and distinct species. No foolin!
So today's trivia guestion is in 3 parts
#1 What is the weight of IGFA world record War Mouth?
#2 What state was it caught in?
And #3 In what year was it caught?
Good luck 🤞 to all!
Don't look it up!
Don't cheat!
No foolin

is this an April fools joke? never heard of a war mouth. heard of a "war monger" but not a "war mouth" but since you set the rules I can't even look it up to see if it is real or a April fools joke so I will go with it being a joke. but the state would be the state of war, year 1940-1945

The War Mouth is a species of Pan fish.
Not a April fool's joke.
The only fool here is me.

Yep, a Warmouth Bass.
We use to catch them in Texas when I was a kid.
They never were very big though.
Don't know the answers to your questions either.

We don't have them here, but I think there's a population in the Hudson Valley in NY.

Well, I would be surprised if they were much over a pound and a half to 2 pounds.
I suppose one might get even a little bigger but that would be a BIG Warmouth for sure.
I've never seen or caught one over that.

Beware Gordon,
When it was near my 16th I told my father I wanted a new car.
On the day of my birthday he handed me a Hot Wheels and said " Here's your new car. Your responseable for putting gas in it "

Well, I guess I am going to be a little off the track here.
I've never heard of a Warmouth, however, here in Texas we have a 'Meanmouth Bass".

Its name comes from the fact that they were seen attacking a female swimmer. It (they) was launching from the water to bite her on the head and chest. (Reminds me of a date I once had....she was vicious!)

It is believed to be a hybrid Bass between an SM and LM or a Spotted Bass and a Largemouth.

They are known for their aggressive nature and they fight ferociously when being reeled in.

Let me guess....
#1....7lbs
#2.....Texas (Of Course)
#3..... 2020

In NJ it is illegal to release a warmouth because they are considered to be a dangerous invasive species. I caught 116 warmouth in a small pond
in Central Jersey in one year.

I believe they're related to Rock Bass.
