Hey boys - happy Friday!

So I'm planning to slam out 3 new fishing rods that are a bit more species-specific in the next few weeks. I was writing about this on the 'ol bloggy the other day (I won't link because I'm new and that might be against the rules) and typing as I was thinking out loud...

"Last year, one of the things that I really started to notice was the difference in feel and action when certain rods & reels were paired with certain line types and techniques. Like most skills, this is simply the result of time. Experience. Getting in your reps. The longer you work at something, the more you start to notice the nuances that you missed when you were starting out. I know that building a few rods tailored to the way that I now fish will make a big difference.

It's been about 2 years since I worked on a rod build, and I miss the process. The last project was actually a rod repair... but this year, I want a custom ultralight rod for micro-swimbaits, a beefy spinning rod for jerkbaiting & jigging creek smallmouth, and a big 'ol beefcake for largemouth bass in the muck."

2 QUESTIONS:

1. I need to get a blank for the beefcake and the jerkbaiting spinning rod. I've been looking at Mudhole, but also came across a site called "Rod Geeks" that apparently has St. Croix blanks. I'm not a blank snob, but if you guys were building a new rod for these two applications, what would you use?

2. Is there any way to BOLD or ITALICIZE text in this forum? It would make some of my long winded rants easier to scan if I could break stuff up a bit...

Thanks boys. Talk soon. -AJ

Yeah, I wondered how he did that too. I've never seen anyone do that before.

Ok boys - thanks for the info! So as much as I love to fish, I'm a website developer by day - AKA: a big fat nerd. I noticed that when I hit "Quote Reply" it gave me the text + the proper tags, so I hit copy/paste and dropped each comment I wanted to respond to into simple text document So it looks like this... [see attached image]

*cough* witch *cough*

So, I spend a lot of time by day fixing websites, and that lives here: https://fixmysite.co/

And then this is a passion project for me, and it's also how I met Brother Mike: https://theminimalistfisherman.com/

Now the big question is whether or not you guys get alerts when I mention you in a comment like this? And also... with all of that said... I have to get back to work because I ORDERED 4 NEW ROD BLANKS TODAY AND NOW I AM BROKE!

So it has nothing to do with whether or not I "quote reply", y'all just get notifications for anything that got added?

Please excuse my dumb questions. Just trying to figure out how y'all do things 'round these parts.

Thanks for the help - very appreciated.
