I'm a amateur seismologist and just got a report of increased seismic activity in Yellowstone Lake. They appear to be minor but very frequently. I'm getting unconfirmed reports of road closures in and around Mammoth Wyoming. Can anyone confirm these reports? Also are there any of you that a feeling said quakes?

I don't know but I'm thinking you do. isn't this sort of thing pretty common in Yellowstone? just trusting not a precursor to another eruption that would be pretty devastating to put it mildly
Precisely why we are monitoring the situation. Yes quakes occur frequently in a around Yellowstone. Our concern is increasing seismic activity in the area.
I'll keep everyone abreast of the situation.
I need first hand info from residents in Wyoming before I can confirm anything.

Good Morning Commander Bell!
You might add the USGS "HANS" site to your tool bag.
It is the Hazard Notification System (HANS) for Volcanoes.
https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/hans2/view/notice/DOI-USGS-YVO-2023-03-01T08:24:16-08:00 According to this mornings report, things seem pretty "normal" under the lake.
We are in a seismic zone classification the same as California. Lots of earthquakes, but so far, they remain very small. Most are rarely felt by residents in and around Yellowstone NP.
(I am in Bozeman, MT, just northwest of the park) Maybe some of the Wyoming Stagers will weigh in on things...
Hope this helps. Hope the quakes that do occur remain small and inconsequential!
Yes. I'm tired into the USGS data site. Most of the quakes were extremely minor and occured in the Yellowstone Lake. It appears that things have calmed down somewhat.
I also received information from the USGS that although the magma level is rising about one inch per year, it is nowhere near eruption level.
I mainly focus on the New Madrid Fault Line and the Wabash Valley Fault Line. It was a member of my team that alerted me to Yellowstone.
Thanks 👍 for your response

I would like to personal thank everyone who responded to my inquiry as to earthquakes in the Yellowstone reagins.
Things have returned to normal.
At the time there were 97 quakes in a 48 hours. That my friends is what heightened our awareness.
