Hello Chaplain. Folks are catching good numbers of crappie fishing mornings below Fort Gibson dam. Jigs are the preferred bait. The bite will last until the proper lake level is reached & the gates are lowered.
A big thank you to all who responded to my question!
Any Crappie Fishermen in the Tulsa area that might want some company from time to time. I've got, I think, what I need but don't have the knowledge and experience. I am retired, 72, and a retired law enforcement chaplain.
They are starting their Spawn so you'll find them near the banks! Sometimes just a few feet from the water's edge! The makes are making spawning nests for the females to lay their eggs. Then the males will guard the nest at any cost. They'll be hungry because they will not leave their guarding position to eat!! So...Set that hook and real in the Big Ones!! Spawn only lasts 3 to 4 wks, so Getty out their at dawn and I've found that Evening Fishing, even after dark is ultimately the best time. Good Luck!!
