Interested in all fishing tips for lake Tenkiller.
Hello D. Welcome to the forum. Just passed through Cookson a few minutes ago. Was on my way home from going down to Spiro & checking out that small lake. I've heard it was excellent bluegill fishing. I didn't fish today, only scouted around. I did fish Tenkiller Saturday & had little success. Not unusual after a 2 day rain like we had Thursday & Friday. 3 of us in the boat & most all our fish were caught on spinnerbaits. Multicolor, bright multicolor. Schools of shad were everywhere. I tried a shad color crankbait but never connected. We caught no smallmouth Saturday but we had good luck earlier in the week with spinnerbaits. When it warms up my go to bait is a wacky worm. Rattletraps have been good & if you're after sandbass an Alabama rig is good. I usually launch my boat at Sizemore landing or Pettit bay. My favorite catfish areas are on the north end near Cookson landing. Good luck & tight lines.
great info and Thank you much!
