Currently I am vacationing at Surfside Beach S.C. I am very near a fishing pier that I have fished before but with little success. Any assistance on this topic would be appreciated.

Fresh Shrimp, even at the deli counter at a grocery store is still better than that frozen crap at the pier... you are better off not going at all if you use that crap.
