The last couple times I’ve been there they are a couple guys wading out in front of the creek on that side I’ve seen them catch fish but I couldn’t tell what they were

I have found that muskies, even very big ones are much more likely to take small baits. The bait you made is a perfect muskie bait.

My experience is that large baits are great for VERY aggressive fish, but most of the time these fish are just looking. Your small bait was the perfect enticement.

A fisheries biologist in Minnesota once told me 90% of the stomach contents of muskies are less than 2 inches in length.

That’s why the 00 ac shiner often works.
A lot of fish in my area are caught by accident on a 3” grub and jig.

Finally got one today and it was a good one.
I started off with a lure that my buddy made and I painted , I pictured it the other day. It followed it in once but would not hit. And turned away from the figure 8. So I switched to one of my longer lures and it followed it in twice. I thought it might just want a snack so I put on one of my smaller lures and hear is the result I left my tape measure in my boat so I didn’t get a measure on it. Mid 40s.

looks like yall were wrestlin in the weeds

You are gonna strain a muscle there Mike. Dont hurt yourself for our enjoyment. Fishing can be dangerous work.

Try Storm Thunder Sticks or Deep Thunder Sticks. Worked well at Texoma. Trout color or my favorite fire tiger. Good luck and stay safe on that low water.
