Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and wanted to say hello. I live in Duncanville, TX and haven’t fished since my teenage years. I have a teenager that expressed a birthday desire to start fishing. So I’m getting equipped for our first fishing trip. I plan to try Cedar Hill State Park first.

Welcome to the Stage CakeLady. Welcome back to the world of fishing that we all love, and good luck introducing your teenager to the sport. My only advice would be to start simple, and make sure the interest is maintained, before making large investments. Good Luck, Tight Lines, and remember, we love pictures.

Hello CakeLady - welcome! TPWD last stocked Lakeside Park in Duncanville with trout on 3/3. Their website says they've loaded it with 1,896 trout since late November. Might be worth a try (and free). We're in south Grand Prairie and go to CHSP regularly. Just be careful bank fishing if you venture into thicket/brush/downed limbs etc at CHSP... copperheads will be active soon (if not already).
