Visiting the Conch Republic next month and am looking for some shore fishing (by foot) locations for all variations of snapper. Any thoughts and bait ideas? Thanks!

live shrimp anywhere you can put it in the water. try the little backwater spots off of parking lots. good luck
Thanks, any particular parking lots in mind? Also, we have sat at the Half Shell Raw Bar and snapper with shrimp shells. Are you allowed to fish off any of those walk ways?
I've kayak fished in the channel between Stock Island and Key West and around Cow Key. If you fish the deeper channel under the Hwy. 1 bridge, use a steel leader. One trip, I lost all of my spinner and soft baits to things that had teeth. Caught lots of mangrove grouper, needlefish and baby barracuda. Don't have to use natural bait. Anything shiny that flashes or spins will get a strike. If you kayak or paddleboard in the mangroves around Cow Key, keep in mind that Key West is home to the American crocodile. Don't pull up into the mangroves and take a nap like I did one year.
