Welcome to the Stage! Sorry, I can’t help you but there are a few Stagers in your area. Hopefully they can point you in the right direction. In the meantime, check google maps and see if there are piers near you. Also check with the state marine resources department and sporting goods stores and bait and tackle shops. Have fun.

If you are in south Stafford try Hopyard Farms in King George county. Bulkhead to fish from. Also Port Royal fishing pier, right near the bridge between King George and Caroline county.

Best for cats is cut bait or minnows. Keep an eye out for snakeheads in the shallows...I have seen them caught there before!

I've been targeting snakies more and more the past few years so that's a good tip! I know the Rap is teeming with them!

It is. I noticed quite a bit of bow fishing going on above the 301 bridge at the KG Caroline county line upriver when I crossed at night. I'm just now learning how to go after them with a rod. We have fished for catfish and have several pretty much no fail holes between Hopyard landing and the bridge. Kayaks are getting pretty popular too.
