I don't understand why the Marshyhope isn't loaded with Yellow and White perch. The bottom is perfect for them to spawn over, it's sandy and shallow with good water movement.

It has got to be the blue cats. It was great 7 to 5 years ago. I have the pictures to prove it. All caught right in the marina fishing from shore. I could go on and on with fish pictures caught right in the marina. So I know for sure something is wrong, and I think it is all the large blue cats.

Im sure there are numerous reasons for the decline. Im sure snakeheads eat thier share along with the catfish and stripers and pickeral. I was talking to a guy at a bait shop last week who told me he fished the upper Chester near where I fish in his boat and there were nets everywhere. Ive been fishing there for 3 weeks and havent caught a yellow perch yet. But i also hear they came and went quickly.

OK that is your opinion. I live right at the Marshy Hope and fish it almost every morning for about 7 years. There are fewer snakeheads, and pickerel now to eat our perch. You were right with catfish eating there share. Blue cats. Check their bellies. Thanks!

I read in the newspaper that your governor is going to ask for federal assistance to have the Blue Catfish and Flathead Catfish listed as an invasive species. The sooner the better.

They're garbage cans with fins. Snakeheads ain't got a thing on a catfish, hence the reason I kill every one I catch from 8" to 3'. I either feed them to the dogs or they get ground and put out on the fields. I threw 2 on the grass there at the marina and an eagle came down and picked them up.

Proof is in the Science Laboratory. Absolutely one of the highest quality garden fertilizers on the planet. Chile fried is good for the spicy tongue. Makes good cut bait too.

https://www.bhg.com/recipe/chile-lime-catfish-with-corn-saute/

There is spicy chicken breading made by Louisiana Brand that also is good to add just a little to a cornmeal based breading.

I always soak fish in milk (1/2-1hr ) before dredging in dry ingredients. It always turns into a race to see who gets the last piece.

I heard they are very good to eat. I know ware you can get free blue cat filet. At the blue cat tournament in Sharptown Md. At the way in they are going to filet the blue cats and give them to anyone that wants some. https://go.activecalendar.com/doit-md/event/doitforroper-catfish-tournament/?fbclid=IwAR08T33C4FhUyZpAnmbgNy8AE_ckVdbsy3uriMFnsLsLAkdtfISp_Dyoxpg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/groups/726389884070108/-----------https://go.activecalendar.com/doit-md/event/doitforroper-catfish-tournament/?fbclid=IwAR08T33C4FhUyZpAnmbgNy8AE_ckVdbsy3uriMFnsLsLAkdtfISp_Dyoxpg

I think they are very good. I dont throw any back but here in Delaware they are considered invasive and the state doesnt want you to put back.

Thanks for info. Currently I am in The Great Pacific Northwest USA so it is a bit too far of a commute.

We eat some of the Blue cats, I fillet and give most away unless it's too big, then it gets fed to the wildlife. Channel cats are just nasty tasting and the pups like them.
