Bartlett Lake Monday March 13th - Fished for four hours mid-day. Lake is extremely muddy, couldn't see my lure 6 inches below the water surface. Water temp was 63 degrees. I threw rattle traps and crank baits that make noise, light and dark colored jigs with curly tails and paddle tails, spinners. I marked plenty of fish in 10-20 feet of water but didn't have a single hit. Spoke with several fisherman who had the same results. Only one man I spoke with had any luck, two large mouth bass on rattle traps down near the dam.

Lake Pleasant Tuesday March 14th - Fished for four hours mid-day. Lake water is 63 degrees in Castle Creek, 59 degrees out in the main lake. Trolled rattle traps, shad raps, Road Runner underspins with curly tailed jigs, and spinners. Marked many fish in 15-30 feet of water near the mouth of Humbug and the Agua Fria. Caught one really nice White Bass on a deep diver shad rap. Water is very low with many hazards so take your time if you aren't familiar with the lake. One fisherman anchored right at the blocked off markers on the Agua Fria fishing with anchovies had several small 1.5 - 2 lb Stripers.

Lake Pleasant update 3-20-23

Fished the Agua Fria entrance up to the Eagle Nest blockade buoys. Water is very muddy due to last Wednesday's rains (it was relatively clear when I was there last Tuesday). We boated four Striped Bass around 5 lbs each, had two line breaks and missed about six others. Fish were in 15-30 feet of water and were hitting deep diving crank baits and jigs with anchovies. Fish tacos are on the menu!

Lake Pleasant update 3-25-23 Fished the Agua Fria entrance and Humbug. Caught two 5-6 lb stripers on anchovies, one LM on a black and yellow jig, and a small white bass with a big attitude on a crank bait. Water is extremely muddy with floating debris in both the Agua Fria and Castle Creek areas of the lake.
Wake boaters cut the day short. I don't understand why with a whole main lake they feel they need to come into the river entrance and bays where the fishing boats are at.
Another note. A mountain lion was spotted in one of the canyons off Humbug on Saturday.

Lake Pleasant update 4-6-23. The lake temperature had cooled to 57 degrees in the main lake and the water has cleared up a little in the Castle Creek and Agua Fria arms of the lake. I could see a white curly tailed grub lure about 12 inches down in the water. We fished from the entrance of Humbug toward the bald eagle closure buoys at the Agua Fria entrance and caught 12 striped bass between 1.5 and 8 lbs on anchovies. We also caught two decent size white bass and two small catfish also on anchovies. We also had one break off that stripped all the 12 lb line off a spinning reel and we never saw what it was but assume it was a big striper. Casting crankbaits, swim baits, and spinners didn't produce a single hit. We searched two bays for crappie but came up empty handed. Water level has come up significantly in the past few weeks and there is a lot of driftwood floating in the lake. We also saw a number of 5 gallon buckets and a 30lb propane cylinder bobbing in the lake so be careful out there.
