Do you use a fishing app?
I have been using one for a while and will not go fishing without consulting it first. I have found fishing apps to be helpful in a few specific ways.

I know that. I tried many as well. I actually found one I like and is useful. I have tested it against actual time on the water. I do believe they have a lot of room for improvement.

I have Fishbrain and like it but I don’t always remember to look at it before I go fishing or to choose when to fish. I go when I can. I’ve found the Solunar Charts to be decently accurate. Really accurate for hunting and about 70% for fishing.

Tight lines

Thanks J for the info. I found the same thing in the Fishing Points app that I use. The fishing activities part of it is really useful in planning my trips on the water.

I tried a lunar app one year and it was on target sometimes, have never gone back to it. Now days pay attention to the tide charts.

Well, I was too. I spent a lot of time researching and testing different ones. I finally landed on Fish Points because I found the fish activity part and weather part very useful in planning my days on the water. I am limited on when I can go so I wanted to maximize my efforts in catching and not just fishing. It is pretty dang accurate. Last week it showed a spike in activity and the bite happened exactly in that window. 2 of us caught 41 stiper in 45 min. Hope this helps.

Only apt I use is "Windfinder" As a guide I had to make things happen between 7:30a.m and 5 pm. regardless of sun, moon, fishable weather or tide. It adds a real challenge, as one must convince fish to bite, even when they were not feeding.

I have FishAngler and I like it but I don’t let it tell me when to fish or not, when it says the fish will bite at a certain time sometimes it’s right, but really the best times to fish are when you can, biting or not it’s still fun, and I catch more fish on poor days than I do on excellent days

Thanks cody. A really great day of fishing is like a vacation, even with the extra time to clean limits of halibut and salmon. A tough day and I went home exhausted. My boat got skunked once. I still remember how done in I was that day.
