This bass was caught on my ultra lite set up in only 3ft of water.I just bought a pitch & stick rod & put on a ultra lite reel both made by Shakespeare. On the ultra lite set up it put on quite a fight.
Nice fish never seen a bass that dark did you throw it back?
Small mouth. Your lucky everytime the rod bends left or right they have a chance to get away. How many times did he jump?
Nice fish.
Right price equipment for a lot of folks that works just fine.

As long as you keep that rod tip up and the drag light you can do amazing things.
Even though I've fished coast to coast, I must say I've never caught a smallmouth.
Maybe I can fix that next summer.
Enjoy the fight with ultralight.
Try wolf creek power plant aka coffee county lake in Ka.

Nice smallie. And on ultralite. Nice
Yes I throw it back,at times I keep them to eat but I'm selective as to the waters I eat them from.
Thanks,it jumped several times, like the pitch & stick Shakespeare rod but had to change the reel the drag was not that great & reeling in larger fish on a short stick is a challenge but fun.
Thanks,I have my old faithful 20 year old UGLY STICK but some of my fishing friends suggested to try the pitch in stick &I must say for $8.00 it was fun to land a larger fish on it but as I stated you have to change the reel to a better reel a little heavier line to be able to bring the fish in.
Thanks👍 will do,give it a try.
