Got my entry paid. From now till July 4. Catch them bass with a tag. I’m going for the 10+lb prize. Any suggestions on lure color for march don’t have much march experience. Good luck tight be lines

Find something closely colored to match what they eat!

try a black/white J-5 jointed Rapala or a purple lizard rigged weedless

I would agree with Rip on the Lizard, whatever color your local Salamanders are. Dark stick worms, or a white Spinnerbait. Good luck Reb, looks forward to hearing about and see how you do.

Depends on a lot. Water temp/color and weather conditions mainly. If water temps are 60 or above (already there), the girls should be moving to the banks. Early March, you will find them spawning and pre spawning. This is a grass lake so they are spawning in back of creeks in the grass or pad stems. You will see holes in the grass. Pitch a soft plastic of your choice (clear water/green pumpkin or natural colors/stained waters black and blue). Pre spawn, they are passing through the many causeways (full of Shad) and can catch them on large swimbaits or umbrella rigs. Or, they are staging near humps and will move up to feed. In that case, red lipless or natural shad colors. Red is good on sunny days. Good luck!!!! It is a tough lake with a lot of pressure. Tons of tournaments every weekend for next several months. If you feel you are in the right place and can’t get bit, slow down and finesse fish.
